Free image
protection software for the Internet.
It has always been
suggested that online image protection should be free to those
wanting to protect non-commercial images. And today,
Artistscope can announce that Secure
Image 2.2 was released as exactly this.
Work on Secure Image began as
the best solution for protecting images when nothing else was
available. This was made possible by artists seeking to
protect their intellectual property. Secure Image has always
been an excellent product and offers image encryption for the
Internet, multi-domain registry, domain lock, special
applet effects and batch file processing. These were all first
developments by the Artistscope team.
The release of the Secure Image
Lite version comes as a response to the many complaints
received about bogus protection systems. the Internet is seen
as a wonderful resource for research and for too many,
inspiration to copy or otherwise imitate services that may
appear to be income earning, regardless of whether copyright
applies or not. There are now many "companies"
offering image protection systems and making false claims, not
only about their product, but also about its origins. Some of
these systems are no more than simple image applets that do
not provide any protection for the image on the server. Mostly
made from Java kits by amateurs, those applets have been found
not to be well supported on all platforms and some are causing
major browser crashes. Other complaints have been about the
lack of support provided. To reduce the incentive to what can
only be considered pirates, the Secure Image Lite version, a
special release of what is the most sophisticated solution
available, is offered for free for non commercial use.
Features of the
free Secure Image 2.2 version are:
-
Protection
from "right mouse click" saves and Microsoft
Internet Explorer page saving.
